Semana Celestial.

This week was... Heavenly!
We worked a ton this week.
Its crazy to see how the lord really blesses us when we work with all our heart, might, and strength. This past week we really saw a bunch of miracles. The lord blesses us truly. Seems like we are finding a meeting with everyone that the lord has ready to be baptized.

This week we started meeting with a new investigator super cool. Her name is jaqualine, I know a brazilian name... hahaha.

She is the daughter of a less active, lives with her college age son and is just absolutely hilarious. hahaa.

Also, She probably going to be baptised here in two weeks. Super duper prepared. This week we taught her about the antonmente because she has some really deep questions about repentance and how she can feel free of the pain she feels.

Wow, what a crazy spiritual lesson. I've never seen someone really understand this concept so fast. When we explained that Jesus volunteered to be our savior, she started to cry... When asked her what she was feeling, she said that all her life she felt that god was crazy to send his son to be killed, and that she never really understood how a god that loves people could do that,,, but now she understands why and how God did it. Crazy how people are seaching for the truth without even knowing it. we are see how god loves his children every day here in castelo Branco.

We also marked the wedding of julho and lucia. I love this family soo much! they are progressing so fast. on the 17th we will marry them and they are going to get dunked.. This will be the 10th wedding that I've participated in here in Brazil. Crazy. hha

Also domingo, (sunday) we had the primary program in church... it was... ,super funny. The kids really tried the best they had to show to their parents... Too bad I don't play the piano, because is would have been reallly good if they had a pianist. ( I should have listened to mom on the learn the piano thing) ahahah

We also brought another new family to church. They are super sweet, michel and pamala, Pamala is a less active, and michel is her hubby. They loved the church and probably Michel will be baptized here in a couple weeks. Hes a super stud, work as a motorcycle mechanic, so we get along great..

also, comprei uma camera. Entao, Fotos!

Com amor,

Fun fun fun fun fun.. PORTO ALEGRE É QUENTE!

well..

This week pasted by soooo fast.. Like i don't even know what happened. Things just seemed to blur by. its been good though. We have had a bunch of sweet milagres here.

the start of the week I went to Porto Alegre for a conference with the zone leaders. It was good. I got to see a bunch of old friends. also I got to visit Agronomia, my old area. I was super happy to see the my recent converts doing good, being active in the church. one of the best feelings ever..

Our meeting on Tuesday was... well, it was intense. President is pushing for more baptisms. Its was pretty good. Our mission is going to be one of the best missions in Brazil. we are waaayy above alot of the other areas of Brazil. Its amazing to see the difference that President Cruz is making. He really is an inspired man.

When I got back Tuesday night, we right away got to work. The week seemed to fly by. It was awesome. We are going to being working with 3 new couples to get married in the next weeks. I'm super pumped because one couple is the mom and dad of a missionary that just left for the field this past month. we are excited.

This week was had a crazy good experience with one of the members here. we where walking, hurring to appointment when me companhion told me to that we needed to stop and talk to a member that was in route. I didn't really want to, but elder De souza told me that we had to... that he felt we should. Anyways, we were for it. When we knocked on the door, the sister of ward was crying pretty hard. The area I'm working in is super poor, and alot of the members have a hard time with buying food for their kids. Anyways, another sister of the ward had given us some packaged food to eat for lunch the next day. When we started to talk with this sister, she said that she had been praying that someone would help her because her kids were super hungry and they didn't have anything to eat... obviously we gave her that food that we had. Really was testimony build in the power of prayer. The lord really anwsers our prayers, if we ask in faith. Everything will be fine. The scriptures always say that if we have faith in him, and pray with stopping, we will be nourished. In this case was literal, but most of the time is is spiritual nourishment.

Love you all,

MISSION LIDERSHIP CONFERECE

Well, Im in porto algere today. I don't have much time. We are here for a misison leadership conf. More meetings. should be good. I'm here with pretty much all my friends in the mission. I'm excited to see what tomorrow should bring.

This week was crazy! apparently, a gaint like windstorm came through while we were sleeping. I slept just fine, but some parts of are area are completely destroyed. YIKES> made for some fun times.

This week we had a crazy cool experiance. WE were near the church waiting for some other elders to arrive, when we decided to talk to some people in the street. Well, we ended up talking to this couple. This couple, super young, like 19 and 20, started to show some real interest, when I heard almost like a vocie tell me: Open the church and give them a tour.

What? Like I've never given a church tour before. I have no idea what would be cool to show them.....

Anyways, If theres one thing i've learned... Its that if you hear the spirit o do something.. JUST DO IT. don't ask questions.. Anyways, we lead them to the building and opened it up. My compahion started talking about how we have sunday school and showing them the class rooms.

then we went into the sacrament meeting... wow... When we entered the room... The girl started to cry and the spirit started to be real strong. I don't know what we really were talking about, but she just started to sob.

Then she started to talk about how this is the place where she need to be sunday and how she had seen this room in a dream and how she always felt that if she found this room, she would do anything to stay there and got to that church.

It was awesome. a super cool experience. Too bad that she lives in the area of the sister.. We wrote down here # and address. The sister went there marked a baptism date, and she went to church sunday. I'm excited to see where this goes.

Things are good. Sorry don't have much time, seems like I never have much time.

Love You all!

More work.

Well,
This week we did just about the same thing as before, We worked. And worked. and worked.

Things are getting a little hot down here. It rained a bunch herer.... nothing like getting to take a shower everyday all day. Its the life. ahahah. I think the worst part about the rain is that after words it gets super hot... such is life.

Elder De souza is doing good. Wednesday, we went to a mission meeting in pelotas. it went good! there came down to our mission a seventy from the north of brazil. Made for a day of alot of instruction and spiritual experiances. I think the crazy thing is that Elder Carboni, the seventy called me up to teach to him the first lesson in front of everyone.... it when fine, but i was sacred out of my pants. Afterwords he pulled me aside and told me that I taught the best first lesson he has seen in a very long time. Told be to keep doing it... I guess he liked.. Whatever right? I just do what everyone tells me to do.

This week we worked alot with the list of members. The branch i'm in is preparing to be a ward, this means that they need to clean out the list of members.... which means the missionary's get to clean out the list. it went by really slow, but we got to take off 90 names off the list. Crazy.. 90 people moved out and the branch didn't even know... haha. Brazil.

we also taught some great lessons to Adreille, the wife of a member here. One of the people with the most faith I've seen. Just have to wait for one week and she will be baptized... probably on Saturday.

We also found a sweet new family... They live on the beach! like they have a beach house. Makes for some great lessons with the water splashing nearby. They are awesome, we are excited to see the progress they will make.

Things are good, the zone is good. WE are working super hard. THe zone leader life is a little scary... I'm always anwsering the phone, its pretty annoying.

Anyways, Love you all!

Rio Grande!

Well, I've been transferred!!! I'm right now in Rio Grande! Yes... I'm waaaayyy down south. The farthest zone from the mission...

Things are pretty good down here. I've been called as a Zone Leader but... I'm also training??? Yes.. I'm training.. Again. This will be six months straight of training. Its pretty good! My new companion is from Fortaleza.. Again! Seems like I'm only getting comps from the north of brazil. He's great! I already love him to death!

My new area is called Castelo Branco or White Castle! Yes! My area has the name of cheap fast food place in the south. Got to love it. Its great. we are trying to make the push for this branch to become a ward. I guess I'm good at this or something because this will be the second time that president is putting me in this type of situations.

The other zone leader lives pretty close, about 30 min walking. We have to sleep over in his apartment every sunday night to plan for the week and stuff. It's pretty annyoing, but good at the same time. His name is elder Santos... He's from good old.. Fortaleza..hahaha.
Our zone is just sisters and one other dupla of elders. CRAZY. We have 8 companionship's of sisters. Its crazy. WE are calling this zone the relief society. hahhaha. Got to love it!

Anyways, this week we had a crazy good experience. We were knocking doors when we found a super sad old women. After talking to here for awhile, we left her with a book of Mormon. When we left, marking another appointment, she said that she never let anyone in here house, and that For some reason she decided to let us in. The spirit was super strong, and im super excited to see where this goes with her.

Love you all, This week we are going to have a mission tour. Should be exciting!! We will have a Seventy here. WE will probably recieve some kind of burning. ahha.a

haha.

Transfers! New (old?) comp, new area, new WARD! New Calling? ... yesh...

Well...
lets just say that this week was CRAZY. AGAIN.

To start out the week, we had some freaking crazy lessons. Here in Brazil, there are alot of churches... like ALOT. Every corner has another church. It leads to some interesting conversations.
Anyways, My comp, well he likes to talk to pastors... or preachers of the other religions... So This week we made a goal to try and talk to as many preachers as possible, Not to try and prove them wrong or anything, just to see what they truely believe. This week I had my testimony truly strengthened, that this Church, The Church Of Jesus Christ, Really is the only true church.

One lesson after another, Talking with these preachers, always, with respect, The holy ghost truly showed me that there is no other church in the world that has all of the true doctrine. Yes, there are many good churches, but there is only one TRUE church. Crazy how much I learned this week.

The weekend was filled with conference... we watched it in the church through the web. It was great. Since everyone watched (or didn't watch) at home, it was just us in the church to watch conf. Truly, we are guided by prophets, seers, and revelators. I have no doubt about that.
I especially like the talks about the book of mormon. One talked about how any living being can have a testimony of this book. I know that this is true. Even people taht can't read can have a testimony. I've seen it happen.

Sunday, we also received transfer calls... I'm getting transfered. President also called me to be a Zone Leader... YIKES. Totally not prepared....

The lord really calls and then Qualify s. not the other way around.

The really goodnew is I think that my companion will be Elder Rufato... Yes, the same Rufato that saved me wwaaayy back in Aronomia, We are super good friends... He's like a mini Harrison... haha

Love you all,

Still alive, Still in camaqua.

Well, im still alive! The good news is this!

Things are good. I'm working hard. This past week was way hard. We had a bunch of people drop us, which is kinda sad. Its always sad when people seems to be progressing so welll but the devil seems to grab them.

This week we had more traveling to do. We went to sao lorenco again. Its a city that sits next to the beach. We had interviews with president, It was good! President seems to be pretty tired,, we talked alot about these next 3 months in the mission... Freaky, he started to make goals with me on what I need to do for the end of mission, and that I need to start making plans on what to do when I get home. YIKES>

The work in the area is going good. We are finding a bunch of great familys. There's a church that sits next where we live that we are teaching a bunch of members that go there. Its pretty funny because they do family home evening. LIke the sing hymns, then have a message, then have a snack after... Pretty werid. Anyways, we got invited to give the message in the family night at the church.... We totally went... Needless to say its went pretty well. Nobody pulled out the bible to start a bible bash or anything. We were even invited back... I don't think we are going to visit again, but they are muito gente boa.

This week me and elder Silva had amazing experience, We were having a pretty rough day. Everybody was traveling,. The sun was out. It was hotter than hades. Seemed like nobody was letting us in, we elder Silva said: Hey lets say a prayer? I'm sure that someone has to be home today. We said a quick, yet powerful prayer, then continued to our next appointment. The next appointment we when to, we had one of the best lessons of my mission. This family we are teaching, Christiana, and her sons and daughters, finally decided to accept a date to be baptised. after we left the appointmet, Elder Silva and I said another prayer, thanking father in heaven for the amazing lesson and went on our merry day. The rest of the day was awful, but I know that god truely blesses those that ask. I'm so grateful this experience that we had. Just another proof to me that god really listens to our prayers. God loves us. We need to talk to him. Its not old fashioned, or out dated. we literally need to communicate with the only person who really understands everything that we are going through.

Love you all.
Have a great week.

Still alive!

Well this week was HOT. Again. Things are starting to get hot again here in camaqua. Its a good thing and a bad thing too.

We had a great week. We are see the lords hand everyday in our work. Its amazing to see the work that is happening here.

Well, remember last week when we contacted natalia? well Natália came to church this sunday. It was DOPE! She had a amazing experiance. Things She said that she had never felt so happy in a very long time. unfortunatly, she didn't bring her two sons, but she said that the next week she will. I'm way excited to see what happens. This upcoming week should be he baptism.
So PUMPED.

We also are helping the other young women that we found in rain. She didn't come to church this week, but shes keeping the rest of here compromissios. I'm excited.!

We also are working with a family, named christiana, andre, and samantha. Well, they are just another mirical.

Thrusday was a great day... We had a super importante meeting in porto alegre....... with Elder Neil A. Anderson. Needless to say, we learned alot. It was great to here him speak in english... Yes I still speak english.. It was a little dificult at first, but I'm still american. haha.

The rest of the week was just work work work. Elder silva is a amazing missionary. 4 weeks in the mission and already doing his share of the work. Love the kid to death. Before the mission he was a Personal Trainner...  Soo basicly he's teaching me how to get ripped. I'm tranning pretty hard in the morning.

Things are great! I'm doing good. Working hard.

Love you all!

This week was... Amazing. I don't know why despite how difficult this week was, I still feel like is was quite the good week. We worked hard. Had a lot of disappointments but still ended up on top.

We started out the week with rain... We I rained all week... And its still raining. Went good. lhahaha.

When I rains here In brazil the roads turn to mud. There are very few roads that are paved.... Basicly this week was dirty. We ended up buy a pair o mud boots because of how ridiculous it was.
Despite the rain we had the joy of have some incredibly spiritual experiences. I'll tell you about a few.

Thrusday we were knocking doors in a part of the city that is really spread out. Its a good area to work but for some reason, nobody was answering the door. Weird how that works right? Nobody seems to be home when we knock on the door... haha. The life of missionary.

Anyways, We were knocking doors we it started to rain. Like really rain. It started to rain so hard that the street started to fill with water.
Anyways we were truly stuck in the water when This old man called out to us to hurry inside.
Anyways, we entered and started to talk when him when this young mom around the corner, saw us and said "Its the Elders".
Anywho, we started talking to here how she knew the elders and such when she stated to tell us that she used to come to church with her grandma, and when her grandma died she stopped coming. Anyways, we started to teach now. Shes way loving the gospel and every time we teach her her testimony and desire to be baptized keeps growing. it was such a spiritual experiences because I know that It wasn't by chance that this old man called us into is house. I know that god sent us to right spot at the right time. Its just another proof to me that god really knows his children.

Another experience that we had this week.

Friday we received a phone call from a man that lives on the other side do brazil. Anyways, he gave a address of a family that lives in our area that he knew and felt that we should visit. (this doesn't ever happen) anyways, we thought well weird but, whatever, lets visit this family and see what happens.

Saturday afternoon it was rainning again. Really hard. And when its rainning like super hard we usually try and stay out of the street. Anyways, I felt that we need to visit this family, at exactly 3:20. I didn't know why, but I really felt, exactly 3:20.Anyways, we planned it out and stated to set out in the rain. We arrived at exactly 3:19, knocked on the door, and waited for someone to anwser. A young woman came to door, her face obviously crying, inviting us in. When we sat down she started to tell that in eactly that moment we knocked she was praying to god to send some one to help her out with some questions that she had. Needless to say, the spirit was there. Her name is Nat. Needless to say we anwsered her questions. We are going to visit her again tomorrow. I'm way excited to see where this goes with here.

Anyways, this was alittle bit about my week.
I'm doing fine. This up coming week it should stop raining. Who knows though.

'MURICA Day,

Today is 'murica day.
...
Only the best holiday that exists.
....
They don't celebrate 'murica in brazil..

...

Quietly cry's in the bathroom.
...

This week was just another week in the labor of the lord.  This past week was a little disappointing, but we got to see a miracle Saturday.

The whole week seemed to fly by. This up coming week will probably be my last week in this area. I'm going to be really sad to leave, but at times we just have to do what we have to do. This ward is just waaaaayyy to good. All the friends that I've made here, the people that I've baptised. It will be sad when I have to leave. I just hope that It's not this transfer and that I can stay 6 more weeks.

Anyways this past week we were just in the rush to find new people to teach. We spend a lot of time knocking doors. It was good but bad at the same time. We found some really awesome family's but, none of them came to church this Sunday... Which means we get to start all over again. Oh well, its all part of the work.

Anyways, Saturday night we saw a miracle. for the past little while we have been visiting a familiy that lives in our ward. This family, the mom, and the kids are members, but that dad no. anyways they are passing for some serious difficulty right now. He has cancer in his cheek. The doctors say that he has only like one year left to live. Anyways, the bishop asked to pass by there and teach him and see if we could help him out. We had a lesson waaaay awesome with him. ON saturday we taught him about baptism, and he completely accepted it. The spirit was soo strong. He said that before He never really though alot about baptism, but the moment we walked in he felt like we had something that he needed. We have marked the date for this upcoming saturday. We hope that everything goes well. It was such a crazy experience and real testament of how the spirit can touch anyone. This man was incredibly cold to the missionary before, In our records, they told us that he didn't even let the missionary in when He was home, and now... We'll the lord always has a plan for us, and maybe part of that plan is that pass for some crazy things in life, but I know that the lord always knows what hes doing and he will never let walk alone.

Anyways, that just about all I have. LOve you all!

I hope you have a great fourth of july. A friend of mine sent me this photo... Describes my feelings today.

Love you all,

BATISMO!!!!

Welp, this week we had another baptism. It was great! Rogeiro, Ismael and Lurdes are all members of the church now and they can start to recieve all the blessing pomised to them.

This week was just crazy trying to set everything in place. To make matters worse Its like we only had 4 day this week work instead of 7. We had a couple zone conferences, and then we went to the temple! I love the temple so dang much!!  Freak do I love the temple. I'm so grateful for the opportunity that we have to have a temple here in porto alegre.

It's kinda weird though. This city has a temple, but It only open from 4-10 5 days a week. Pretty sad. The mission president has set a new goal to bring more people to the temple. Therefore, this upcoming week we will be going to the temple again, but this time to do baptism with our recent converts!! woot woo!!

The rest of the week we spent doing a whole of finding. I'm not really sure what happened this past week but we had a super hard time finding new people to teach. Crazy. I think It's the cold that is making it happen. This past week it got down to about 33 degrees. Everyone was flipping out. My comp thought that his hands were going to fall off. I had to explain to him how to keep warm when it gets cold like this... Weird to think that pretty much everyone here has never experienced snow. I think I would be quite the trip for them ahahaha.

I don't have much time today. We are moving apartments today. We are going to be living with the other elders that work in our ward... Elder Rufato, and Elder Kime.... ahha, I'll be living with everyone thats already been my companion. It's going to be tight. I'm super pumped.

This week I was thoroughly struck by the faith that this couple that we baptized have. Ismael and Lurdes are only 19 years old. We metem because they decided to come to church one Sunday, looking for help. They live in a house that is less that 10 feet wide by 10 feet wide. They have 2 kids, One Danilo is 4 years old, and Taylor, has less than 1 month. Every time that we when to their house they love our message, and when we left them  with a assignment or invite to do somethings, they always do 10 times what we asked. Ismael has read 3/4 of the book of Mormon is less that a month. something amazing for someone who has never read more that 5 paragraphs before.

The amazing thing about this couple is the fact that Ismael, he don't have a his left leg. It was amputated after a car accident, and lurdres has had a life full of difficult after here mom and dad kicked her out of the house at only 12 years old. They are going through so much, yet they are so happy and have embraced the gospel so well. Even though they don't have much, they are grateful for what they do have.

Its amazing how the lord works. His work is strange at times, and difficult for us to really understand, but when we are will to humble ourself and really listen to the stories that people have, we can truely see the infuence that god has in the lives of people. Before the mission, I don't think I would have even talked to these two, Now, great friends.

I know that God loves us. That he is listening to our prayers. He stands by us when we need help and send angels when we can't do it along. The gospel bring peace to our lives. Jesus Christ is our savior.

Love you all,
Elder Heiner

Yes. We are marrying again.
NO. It's not mine.

This family that we are teaching is going to get married today!! WOOT WOOT. That means that we will have another baptism this upcoming saturday. Nothing better than a marrige and baptism in one week.

This past week seemed to fly by. Like super duper fast. Crazy how that works. the more time im in the mission, the faster it flys by.

The week was filled with trying to meet some new investigators. We've been having a  little bit of difficulty doing this the past weeks. I don't know why, but everyone we keep finding needs to get married. Bleh. haha. It's all good though. Just means a little more work.

It's been getting pretty cold. Things are good though. One of the nights this week my companion just about died. He woke up and there was frost on the windows. He's from fortaleza. The coldest its ever gotten there is like 60 degrees. hahah. It was pretty funny.

We've  been using somthing cool to try and reactivate some familys. Its called my family, program that the church is using to spark intresset in family history work.  It's ´pretty cool, but it sure makes me grateful that I have a good base of family history work alrieady done. Its really hard when nobody knows who their grandma or grandpa is.

Things are good. My time is short today... like always. haha.

Tchau! amo de vocês!

Don't do anything stupid kids!

Wow, this week FLEW BY.

To start off.

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA TO LIVE TOGETHER BEFORE  YOU GET MARRIED.

Seriously.

This week we had a fantastic time finding new investigators...

the only problem is non of them are married. ..:(

Whatever thou,

We spent a bunch of the week talking about marrige and such. The good thing is alot of them have a pretty big desire to get married. makes things a little bit eaiser.

Monday we went to the state office and marked the marrige of Ismeal and lourdres. THAT was awesome. They are a couple that we have been working with for a couple weeks now. They are sooo stinkin awesome. Funny story, they just had a baby like 2 weeks ago... guess what they named it? taylor. LIKE WHAT> ;;;;

Sunday we had a bunch of people in church, which always makes for  a good way to end the week.

I think this up comming week we should be baptising 2 people.... What a good way to end the transfer.

Love you all,
Hope you have a great week.

The weekly lift.

Well well well,

This week was just another week on the crazy farm.

Got to talk to my peeps(the fam) on Sunday. You guys all look great, (Love you)

The rest of our week was filled with a ton of work. The past few weeks we have been working our heads of trying to find another baptism... We keep finding new people to teach but... They all need to get married. Like what the heck, What a problem to have, we keep finding family's to teach. Its pretty crazy.

This past week we been focuzing on rogeiro and martizete. They are a not all member family that we have been trying to get married for the past... forever. We keep running into road blocks with the government thought. The government here really like to take money from the people.... therefore they do everything they can to prevent people from getting married for free. the struggle is real.

We also have been teaching our familys from uruguai. I've been practicing my Spanish.. It's pretty awful, but then again so is the beginning of any language.

We had zone meeting on Thursday. It was fun to see my peeps. Gotta love em all.

the rest of the week was just work like normal .

Love you all,
Elder Heiner

Transfer???

Woot woot!!! this week was crazy busy! but thats good! We worked pretty dang hard.

First off, It got freaking coolllldddddd this week.. Like stupidly freaking cold. but thats good, I like the cold a whole lot more than the heat...

The week started out really strange... with a call from president...

Turns out he forgot to do a transfer during transfers....... hahah

I'm with a new companion right now! His name is elder s. Lima and he's from Fortaleza, wwwwwaaayayy north of where I am.

He likes to hang out on the beach and listen to music.

He's pretty chill. We get along good, and work hard together.

The rest of the week we spent working out tail off. we taught 39 lessons this week.... and 20 of them were with a member present. IT WAS AWESOME. Most of our time was setting date for batism and trying to weed out all the enternagators  (eternal Investigators) in our teaching group. It was a good week.

We met a couple new family's this week, which was awesome!!!! One of them Marcos and vennessa just recently moved here from uruguai.... which means I'll get to practice my spanish again!!! WOOT WOOT! ahahhaa.

It was a pretty good week!!1

Love you all, I hope everything is going good back home.

HEAT and Miracles

This week was hot. Like super duper duper hot. Everyone says that this isn't too normal because usually around this time of the year things are cooling off. Whatever though! The sun doesn't kill(well only sometimes). hahahah

This week we were able to teach A TON.  It was great. Teaching is the best part of the mission. I absolutely love it. Its interesting because the rest of the things that missionary do are only their to help us teach better and more people.

This week we had a amazing miracle with lucas. We've been teaching him for about well... 2 days. He's 20 years old and is looking for peace in life. What better place to find it than the missionares? hahah

Anyways, the second time we met with him, we marked a day for him to be baptized. The day we marked was the Sunday after church. Push comes to shove, it didn't work out, but He is totally ready, already has a testimony of everything. He'll be baptized this upcoming Saturday. Seriously one of the  most prepared people I've ever met.

The other families that we are teaching are going great! We found a new family, Israel and Lourdes. A Family super awesome. They already are reading the book of Mormon and are one track for baptism. The only problem is marriage, but that is just a small problem.

Carlos and villegena are going great. We marked a day for them to get married in the state office. Just need to keep waiting that dang 20 day for paper work. It's pretty annoying sometimes. whatever though.

Things are good. To day is transfers...  No news here. I'll be staying in the same area with the same companion. Its good though. I'm liking it here, The ward is super nice and supportive and they love to help us out.

Anyways, that pretty much all I have.
Love you all,

eeeeehhhh oooohhh,

Hey everybody! I hope you all had a fantastic week because I sure did!!

This week we worked hard. Like sure duper hard. Thats good though, we don't have any other option than to work hard.

We had two mircales this week
one: WE HAD 9 people in sacament meeting. WOOT WOOT! This is crazy because saturday night we only had 3 people confirmed, but when we showed up for church there were tons of our investigators there. All I can say is fasting is super powerful. we decided to hold a fast saturday for our investigators and bam. Its was awesome. truth be told, we brought more people to church that any other companionship in our zone. WOOT WOOT

The second mircale is that we found a super duper awesome investigator  that is going to be baptised on the 22 second. Lucas is a 20 years old and is trying to find a place where he can feel gods love. He so freaking prepared its not even funny. We taught him the first lesson today and he already is excited to be baptised. Looks like all our hard work this month is paying off.

The rest of the week was good. Bishop has called a new ward mission leader and we are super pumped for that. He's like a super good friend with all the missionary, RM and super excited to help us out. I'm super excited to see what happens.

Things are good, Its been raining alot... Its kinda in the phase of hot as heck and raining all the time again. its not the greatest weather to be working in but, its what we have.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Love you all,

PS, Transfers are next week. We'll see what happens, but I think I'm going to be staying

Love,
Elder Heiner

Conference

This week was kinda disapointing, but we got over it.

Its been general Conference, which was awesome! Its kinda like Christmas for missionary. Two days to kinda take a break and rea charge those spiritual batteries.  I really like hollands talk at the end. We listened to conference at the stake center. They have satélite there. It really made me happy.

Elder Pinheiro is doing great! We've started a new program in the mission where the new missionary slowly take over everything.  By  the end of the 2 transfer, they are doing everything. Its a little bit diferente than the 12 week program, but kinda the same thing.

Its starting to get a llittle cold over here. Right as the temp is warming up in utah, its starting to get cold. Its good though, Final, I've been able to sleep through the night. Hahaha.

This past week I've been thinking alot about all the awesome member there are here in brasil. For example, I don't think I've every gone 3 day without an offer to eat dinner with a Family here, member or non member. Sometimes, we will show up to appointments, and our investigators will already have lunch or dinner made for us. Its crazy!! I've learned that it doesn't matter where we are in the world, there is  always somebody that will help you.

Love you all!

Parenthood. I'm so not ready.

hahaha, This week has been.... Stressful. Very very Stressful. But, I've already learned a freaking ton, so it must a good kind of stressful.

Sooo, this past week was kinda crazy. I didn't actually start to work untill  Thursday, because I had to go and pick my new companion! His name is Elder Pinheiro! Hes from Rio! Brazlilian, and speaks portugese perfectly. !! woot woot!

He pretty cool! He was baptized just 3 year ago, and has a super strong testimony.

In the mission we have a "game" the consists of calling Your trainer "dad" and the person your training "son". Why you may ask? well, because basicly, your trainer defines you mission. They things that you learn from you trainer you will carry on for the rest of you mission, and at times, the rest of you life. Long story short, I have the resposibility of raising a child...
Let me just say something, If this this even just a slice of what It's like to raise a real kid, ( Which Its not) Then, I don't want to have kids for a very  long time.... hahahaha

Joking aside, the week was good, But super stressfull because Basicly I have to run the show on everything,, Teaching, Making appointment, creating records, planning, making new investigator, etc. Its stressful, but fun at the same time.

Our area Is doing pretty well though. We've been able to mark a bunch of new baptisms that should be happening in the next few weeks... so that fun!

WE are teaching again, another family that need to be married, so hopefully in the next 5 weeks we can get all the paperwork in order to do that,

And our investigators that were smoking are making progress with the goals we set for them. All in all, a pretty good week!!

Love you all, I have to cut this one short because we are going to the temple today...
First time I'll be able to visit the temple in over 9 months.. Its be cool the get to know the temple here in porto alegre.

Love you all,

TRAINING.

Well, This week has been... interesting.

Hard week, but a good week too. We worked. HARD.
Basically, Monday night, me and elder rufato decided that we were going to baptize this week.  We didn't have any date marked, or anyone particularly ready, but we decided that we should try our best to end the transfer with another baptism.

Sooo, by Tuesday, we found two people that had all the qualifications to be baptized,  they just needed to fix a couple things in their lives... anywho, We started working with them, Juliano, and Marta. They both are part of a part member family, both visited the church a ton, basically, they are both dry member... Members without being baptized...

Sooo, we got to work. All they needed was to live the word of wisdom for the week, and bam, 2 baptisms.. To help them out, we stopped by their house 2 times a day, brought them juice, called them every 3 hours... TONS of things. Basically we were two annoying little children for the week.

Everything was going good, We had everything set up for the baptism.... But.... Well, They both smoked a cigarette the night before... BAH! It was super super super disappointing... But, we live and we learn. Life goes on.

The family that was baptized this past week is going awesome! Its amazing what the spirit does to a house hold. A house that was once riddled with fights and yelling is now a home of peace and refuge. The transformation is shocking.

Anyways, to day is also transfers! the good news is: I'm staying. The better news is: I'm Training, which means I'll be responsible for a brand new, super green missionary. I don't know who he is yet, but I'll tell you what, I'm going to walk the MR. Mac's right off of him. :) ahahaha, I'm pretty excited, but also a little terrified. Needless to say, It will be a super interesting transfer. I'm sure that I'll be learning alot. I don't think I'll get an american companion, I think It will probably be a Brazilian... that the good part. Means I'll still get to improve my portuguese.

On a sad note, President called me into his office this week to tell me that Grandma Passed away. It's interesting how gods plan is so perfect. During my time on the mission, I've learned soo much about gods plan, And as I continue to learn more, I know that god really loves us. And because he loves us, He will not take out loved one's aways from us without providing a plan for us to see them again. Death is always something sad, but when we understand, and have a testimony of this wonderful plan, It's no longer good bye, but more like a see you later.  I know that this plan is perfect, I know that through the ordinances and principles of the gosple, we will see our loved ones again. He lives, and because He lives, We will too.

Love you,
Praying for you always,
Elder Heiner

Hellloooooooooooo world

Wow. What a week. For some reason I am incredibly tired, yet surprisingly happy.   It's weird how the mission is like that.

Here's a run down of the week.

This week we spent working our butts off, its was a awesome week!

On Tuesday, met an awesome new family, johneer, and favio. Wow, they are just plain awesome. Newly married, they both work full time, are looking to start a family and are searching for a place to raise a family right. Sound like a baptism waiting to happen or what?? haha. I'm pretty pumped!

Wednesday we made a goal to try and teach all of our lessons in under 30 min. We decided that when we have a lesson over 30 min the spirit starts to weaken and people lose interest. Well, we kinda made the goal.. and then forgot about it until about 4:00.... the funny thing is once we started to teach in under 30 min, we doubled the number of lesson we usually teach..... Weird. Its like math or something.. ahhaah.

Thursday we did splits. I stayed in the area with elder leite... or in english elder milk.. Yes, Brazilian names are strange. It was a good time. since elder rufato is a ZL, and his zl companion, elder perreia is companions with elder leite, elder leite and I get to work together quite a bit. It's actually pretty fun. I really like the guy. We had a awesome day together, we met a bunch of new people and our investigator, miro, he was able to smoke less cigarettes this week. Woot Woot!  Any progress is good progress,

Friday, well, friday was  kinda of a waste. me and elder rufato had to go and pick up one of the assistants all the way in the city center, bring him to our area, and stay with him for awhile, because he had a medical appointment. It was pretty annoying, but hey, whatever, At least we got to be on the good side of the assistants now.... haha.

Saturday..... Saturday was about one of the longest day of my life. really, Saturday and Sunday seemed to just blur together because of how busy we were.

Saturday morning, we got a call from one of our investigators asking if we could help them move. Ah, awesome, I love Saturday morning service projects. Well, little did I know, that here in brazil, they don't use moving trucks to move... They use shopping carts.... yes... Shopping carts. Pretty funny if you ask me. So for like 6 hours loaded up everything in the house, and dragged it up this big hill. Dressers, stove, washing machine, all of it. It's a good thing I'm semi-professinal at hauling heavy, awkward items long distances, up big hills. Brought me back the good old days of hauling a chainsaw on my back for hours.

Anyway, after all of that, we still had to go out and teach.... Everyone of our investigators. Every. Single. one. of. our. investigators. Why you ask? because Sunday was stake conference and we need to bring as many as our investigators there as possible. Anyways, We did it. I don't know how, but we managed to stop by and teach everyone of our 40 investigator that are progressing in some form.

After all of that, we still had to wake up at 4:00 the next morning to catch the bus that was going to stake conference. it was a long day.hahah. It all paid off in the end. we managed to bring some 20 investigator to the conference, which is the most that any dupla has brought in a very long time. things are going great.

Love you all!

I hope everyone one has a safe, and fun week!

French toast, and daylight savings time.

Hey everybody!! I hope everyone is having a great week. Things here in brazil are just as crazy as always, this past week we have been running around too crazzy to even count. It's good though. things are working good here in the big old zoo that is porto alegre.

This week we have been working really hard with our family that we have marked a wedding with. They are super awesome, Juliana and andrelle. The past week they have been having a really hard time with... each other? aghahhaha.  Basically, they've been fighting alot... but, That's what the gospel is for! anyhow, we've been stopping by pretty much every night to help them through this rough patch. It pretty cool to see the progress that they've made already. just another testimony to be that the gospel really can help with whatever problem. Even marriage problems. I think the weirdest part is that we have two 20 year old's here, unmarried, with little relationship advice, counseling a couple with 4 kids... hahahah the mission is a weird thing..

We also have been working extensively, with our other family with a baptism date, villençca and carlos. They are progressing really well and we are super excited for their upcoming baptism the 3rd of march. Its crazy how fast they are progressing and being able to help them with their testimony is super awesome.

We've also been working alot with a recent convert named everton. The stake here is getting ready to divide, and we are trying really hard to get all the recent converts ready to receive the M. priesthood. super awesome member, Everybody in the ward just loves him to death. I think he host family home evening like 4 times every week. haha, its pretty awesome.

This week was a good week, me and elder rufato are getting alot great and he's helping me a ton with portuguese.( swear, I have the hardest time with this language, but I'm improving) .

In my studies this past week, I've been focusing on the spirit, and how we can improve our ability to feel the spirit in every moment possible. Been reading in preach my gospel about our prayers and how we can let the spirit guide our prayers. Well, I was thinking and decided to try something different this past week. Every time I say a prayer in the morning and at night, I will stay on my knees until I feel the spirit. Wow, what a difference this has made. Its incredible what a difference this has made. Seems like this past week I've been able to decerne the whispering of the spirit a whole lot easier and be able to invite the spirit a whole lot easier. My challenge for everyone this week is to try it out. Everytime you say a prayer at night. Stay on you knees until you feel the spirit. some times I've stayed on my knees for a long time, But The consequences are soo worth it.

Anyways,

Com amor e respeito!

Meu queridos irmãos e irmas

Vos amo bastante.

IMMM BBAAAACCCKKK, welcome to POA

Just what you guys wanted to here... Yes, I'm still alive, Yes, I love my new companion, And sorry I haven't written for awhile... Its been a crazy past few weeks. I'll give you the low down right now.

So, I'm in a area Called agronomia. It's a little ''Bairro" or, city right out side of porto alegre. Like literally right outside the city limits of porto alegre. I'd compare it to being bountiful to salt lake. Just a few min away. I'm actually in a porto alegre right now as i write this.

About the area, ITS AWESOME. Right now I'm in the zone that pretty much every missionary want to be in. Why? Because this zone is on fire. There are just so many awesome awesome family's that are living here its insane.

My companion is named elder Rufato. He's from pato branco parana, Brazil. He's almost like an exact copy of My friend Harrison Mayer. The first few days were together I was super dupe confused because I'd turn around and Harrison would be standing there. hahaha. Needless to say we are getting along great. (Harrison If you reading this, You aren't replaced, I've just found your Brazilian doppelganger.)

Also, This is kinda a weird dupla because hes a Zone líder, and I'm still sitting at junior. The president told me that he put us together so that I could learn how to lead a hold together a zone.... Whatever that mean.

Because He's a zone leader, and the the other zone leader lives like 5 min away, we are basically in a 4 pack of elders. Mainly because elder rufato, and elder Perreia need to talk about all the zone stuff all the time. Its pretty cool, because Its like I have 3 companions instead of just one. Weird,  But cool at the same time.

The reason I could email this past week was because Brazil had a their big old holiday.... carnaval.... Which is Brazil's biggest holiday. Basically everything shuts down for 3 day while everyone goes to the city center to party.  We didn't have to stay indoor or anything because Its not that big in our city, but other elders basically had a 3 day nap.

The work in our area is just plain going great. This is my second week working here and we have already set a date for one of our familys to be married. WHAT? Yes, thats right, we are going to get to marry a family. The process here in Brazil is super complicated so you have to set a date before hand and then go get a bunch of paper work done. Its complicated, but the family, Julianna, and Andrelle are super excited about it. The also have 4 kids, two of with are older than 8 years old. Can I just say that it is sooo much better to teach family's.

Yesterday me and elder Rufato were trying to find a reference that turned out to be the wrong address when we found a nother awesome family. We knocked on the wrong door and they let us in, we had a super duper powerful lesson, and then after we marked a date for them to be baptized. Bah, its moments like that make the mission sooo awesome.

this past week has been super busy, Its been strange, but awesome at the same time. I can't believe Whats been going on here. I just love it.

This week in my scripture study, I reread the story about Martha e mary in the Luke chapter 10. I Love this story so much. Its a story that Illustrates the really, the things in this life are important. be we always need remember that eventually, everything here on earth will go away, and only the things that we put forth into our "eternal Bank" are going to matter. I love the way that jesus answers Martha in verses 41-42. so clear and direct. If we all can try and remember that we need to chose the good part, then through out our day we can continue to make decisions that truely matter.

Love you all,
Elder Heiner

Workin hard, or hardly workin?

This week was CRAZY! It seemed like we blinked and the week just happened. We've been running around like a halve dead chicken. Its been good, But even with all the work that we've been doing, We still failed to get all of our investigators in church this Sunday. Bummer. BUT, Its alright, everything happens in its due time.

Some of the highlights this week have been,

Well, on Tuesday, and Wednesday  we went out and did divisions with victor, a young man that just moved into out branch. Victors 20 years old and is preparing to serve a mission. He just moved here from cuaiba, which is a city like 500 miles north of porto alegre. Anyways, this kid is just awesome, Super prepared to serve a mission, and just an all around awesome kid. He always gets us to laugh, and he loves coming out with the missionarys. We love taking him along because it really help us out and sometimes hes help out translating our accents,.... ahhahaha. anyways, It was a good old time. WE also had TONS of success these days. Seemed like alot of our appointment just worked out and we were able to find like 4 new awesome families.

Friday, we worked. ATON. on friday we taught over 10 lesson in one day. It was a day super duper good. Like seriously good. And we were able to meet with some less actives that I didn't even know existed in the city. its was a good day.

Saturday, we decided to try something different to get people to church so we spent it swing by as many people as we could to get them pumped up for church. By the end of the night, we were feeling pretty sure that we were going to have a ton of people in church... everyone said they were super excited and that they would for sure be there on sunday...

And then sunday morning rolled around... Its pretty sad to basicly have all your work of the week mean nothing in less than 15 minutes... But! whatever, we have one more week to try and get all of the peeps in the doors of the big white building. !!

Oh, and I gave a talk in sacrament. GULP.

Yes, I talked in portuguese, to like 50 people, for 30 minutes. WHAT.

originally I was only going to talk for like 10... and then the other speaker didn't show up... and as much as everyone like leaving sacrament 40 minutes early, the branch president wouldn't have been too happy about htat

This transfer has flew by and now we are at the end of it. I'm not sure whats going to happen but theirs a pretty big chance that I'll be heading to a new area. I'm not really sure how I feel about going to a new area, whatever though.

The one thing that I've learned from this transfer is patience. Me and elder Allen have been pounding this area to the ground. Literally working as hard as possible, and yet, we haven't seen the fruits of our work. something, that at times is pretty frustrating. The lord has a different time schedule than us. At times we want our fruit to be ready immediately, we in reality we all need to wait until fall to harvest. All though me and elder allen haven't been seeing the fruit of our labor, we both know, through dedication and work here that the lord is pleased with what we have been trying to grow. I don't know If I, personaly, will be the one that get to see this area explode, but I do know that the work that I've put in has pleased the lord.

Love you all, have a safe week

Two white americans...

Wellp, this week was pretty good, but Sunday was a pretty big let down.

So, all of this past transfer, me and elder allan had been working super hard to mark a bunch of baptisms for the end of this month, the 30th, and well Sunday, they pretty much all fell through.

So, for a investigator to get baptized they need to be in church at least 2 times before the baptism. Well, this past sunday was make it or break it because its two sundays out from the 30th..

So all week, we were pumping people up for the baptism. Giving super powerful lessons, we made super cool invitations for all of our investigators, stopped by all their houses on saturday, and well we though we were going to have a TON of people in church... So sunday morning, decided to get to chruch early and wait for everyone by the front door.... welll, churchs starts and how many investigators do we have in church? 0.... Yep, Pretty dang big disappointment. but, life goes on. Looks like me and elder allan won't get the opportunity to baptize together, with is a pretty sad thing.. but everything is in the lords time. We were feeling pretty down but then we realized that at the end of the day, we did our part and thats all the lord asks for us.

Oh, something cool that happened this past week is we got notice that this up coming wendsday we are going to have like general conference for missionarys..  The twelve aparently has some big news to share with us... That should be pretty exciting:):)

Anywhoe, thats pretty much everything i've got to say. it's been a super hot week again... But thats ok. we are kinda getting used to it...

Love you all, Hope you have a great week!

Woah, woah, woah...

wow.. This week was... HOT.

seriously, I thought i was getting pretty warm... and then this week happened. hahah, I don't think i've stopped sweating since last Monday.. ahhaha, Its a blast!

Other than it being super duper hot, we got down to work and got a lot done this past week. I don't have alot of time to write this week, so I'll just tell you guys a little about some of our investigators.

Roberson and family: Super duper awesome family. He married a less active woman( haeile) about 6 years ago. They have two kids and are super duper awesome. They have been searching for a church for quite awhile and finally met with the missionary's. Its super fun to meet with them because their kids LOVE the missionary's. Abousluty love them. Every-time we show up they start getting super excited and start saying that their "tios" are here... or their uncles. super awesome family.

Elosea, and her daughter, Another family that we meet knocking doors( I swear, I've never had so much success knocking doors until with elder Allan #american-power). They are like our grandma and mom here. Seems like everything we head over their they are feeding us cake or something. ahaha. They have a super strong testimony of the gospel, the only problem is they can't seem to come to church.... Darn it satan.

Talihna, e taisha. two girls that we found knocking again. They are friends and are super awesome. They are actually immigrants from syria.... But they moved here like 6 years ago. They are both going to college here and are seaching for something to give their life a little more purpose.

Anyways, things are good. We've got some super good investigators and everything. Me and elder allan keep tearing things up here. Its great to be able to speak english in front of people if we need to talk about something with out everyone else knowing. Its kinda mean, but Its cool at the same time. Since alot of our lunches here just give money, we've been honeing our cooking skill pretty great. This past week we made Eggs in a frame with stragnoff like 3 times #missionarycooking.

Anyways,
Love you all! Hope you have a good week. Stay safe and if your not safe, Stay smart.

HELLLLOOOO 2016!!

Well, here it is my friends, family, people of the corn. We are officially in the 2016. Woah. hahaha. crazy.

This past year has flew by, absolutely flew by. like super duper quick it flew by. Thats pretty good though, Alot has defiantly changed from the beginning of this past year.

Anyways, This past week was pretty uneventful... For us anyways. For everyone else, New years is like one of the biggest party of the year. It was pretty funny to working, spreading the Gospel, while everyone else in the city is getting ready to party. hahaha

WE did have some rather awesome success though, We found 3 new family's in the beginning of the week and it's been awesome to be working with them. Just plain awesome.

One family in particular is super dope, Roberson, and his wife and two kids. His wife was baptized when she was like 10, but by age 15 she became inactive. Well, we were walking down the street Monday after p-day when they called us into their house. LIKE WHAT THE HECK. Turns out they have been trying to find a church that they can raise their family in, but have been unsuccessfully in finding one that answers all of their questions. Well, they saw us waking, called us into their home, and bam... We've got a date set for the 30th. Even better? They asked us when is the soonest that the church has meeting that they can attend. I swear this family is just soo dang awesome.

The rest of the week we worked super duper hard. Meeting with old gators, Making new investigators, contacting people in the street.. etc. In fact, we actually did better in everyone of our goals this week. It was a tiring week, but definitely a good one.

Friday, because of the new year we decided to go all out and try eating out at a fancy dancy pizza restaurant. It was awesome. Unlimited pizza brought to you table. Its called rodesio, like rodesio grill in utah, but with pizza. Pizza normal, pizza weird, pizza with chicken heart, liver, and stuff I have no idea what is, and then, They also bring dessert pizzas when your stuff with the normal pizzas. It was super duper awesome... The best part? It was only like 5 american dollars because of the exchange rate right now... hahaha. Pretty great stuff.

Anyways, things are going good. Me and elder allen are just have an absolute blast together. I'm still pretty shocked the president put the two tallest missionarys together... but hey, It seems to be working so... Tudo bem.

Love you all!
